PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Balaswagandhadi Thailam is a traditional Ayurvedic oil used in various external therapies, especially in Vata‑related joint, muscle and nervous‑system discomforts. Prepared with sesame oil, castor oil and ghee as the base (often referred to as Balaswagandhadi Kuzhambu), it is valued in Kerala Ayurvedic practice for its Vata‑pacifying qualities and is applied lukewarm over the body or specific areas as advised by an Ayurvedic practitioner.
Based on the Kerala Ayurvedic principles, the oil has external application. It can be domestically used for a long period without any side effects. It is applied lukewarm to relieve the affected areas and is lightly massaged over. Apart from massaging, the oil is also used for Dhara therapy, thereby helping to cope with insanity, depression, and severe headaches. All these herbs, combined to form Balaswagandhadi Thailam, serve various purposes.
The oil, when lightly massaged over the affected area, relieves joint pains. It acts as an immunity booster for fever patients. The oil is also used for infants and pregnant ladies for increasing muscular strength. It also works well supporting patients with neurological problems such as neuralgia. Apart from this oil is also useful in supporting treatment for rheumatic complaints like paralysis. The oil should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.
