Lehams and Rasayanams: choose by the complete name

These are dense semisolid preparations, described as Leham, Lehyam, Gudam or Rasayanam and sometimes called herbal jams. That shared format does not establish ingredients, intended use, dose or suitability. Similarly named preparations are not interchangeable, so match the full name on the label.

What to compare on the product page

  • The complete formulation name, and the ingredient list behind it.
  • Serving directions: quantity, timing, duration, storage and any supervision instruction.
  • Food sensitivities, sugar intake, pregnancy or feeding, and other medicines.
Does a jam-like format make it an everyday food?

Not necessarily. Treat each item as a specific formulation and read its label and serving directions.

If the dosage form is the main decision, compare the wider traditional Ayurvedic range, liquid Arishtas and Asavams or Kashayam decoctions. A sweet texture does not make a preparation suitable for casual use.
